Sky Box reverted to UK epg

    Hello all.

We just had a power cut here in west cork and when the power came back on my sky box had changed to the English EPG. This is the second time it has happened in the last few weeks.

When it happened last time the sky operator instructed me to put the sky card into the slot upside down and that seemed to have sorted it then.

But now it has gone back again and I tried to ring sky and they are not giving an option, with technical help, to talk to an operator. Probably a weather issue with staff maybe.

Also the last few weeks so many channels have been showing the message 'No satellite signal being received'. Channel 105, 127, 253, as an example, plus most of the shopping channels and radio channels. Yet when I've looked at the signal strength and quality they are both fine.

Anybody else having this problem? Firstly with the card or with the channels disappearing? Or does it sound like my box is in trouble?

Thanks so much for your help.

You are looking at the Signal on the Channel the EPG is being carried only.

You get channels from 4 or 5 different Satellites and the transponders on each satellite might be aimed just a little bit different.

If your dish is just a bit out of alignment you will lose some channels but not all.

You need to have your dish re pointed.
