Just checking for those of you who are members of a Golf Society, does your society register with the GUI.

Our society has registered since we started 6 yrs ago, it cost €45 and for that we get a listing on the GUI website and thats about it. Not sure really if there is any benefit in that at all. The yearly fee is due again this month and we are thinking of not bothering this year..just wanted to know what people thought?

    Cheers

dont know actually i wouldnt think you would have to get it if everyone in the society has an official GUI handicap with a club otherwise i would get it just in case.

have you tried mysociety.ie they got in touch with me last year about a society i was trying to setup and offer a great range of services. they might be able to answer your question aswell.

they let you use their site to make a webpage you can update and everyone in the society can check up on. much like a newsletter.

I am in two well established societies. One was affiliated to the GUI but decided a few years ago not to renew their subscription as there was absolutely no benefit. The other society decided from the start that there was no benefit and have never revisited it.
