just flicked in last night and it appears they are using us coverage.

i was hoping they would have their own commentators.

i don't want to be hearing faldo and the rest of them.

    hopefully this will change.

surprised to see butch in london for it

You won't be hearing Faldo for long, he is only being called up to do half the events he did last season with The Golf Channel.

The new producer, Packer, worked with ABC Sports and is one of the best sports producers about. Frank Nobilo will be much more involved as will Judy Rankin (ESPN)

No doubt ABC and NBC have better 'talkers' but production wise you will see a huge improvement from The Golf Channel.

Last year Ewen, Bruce and the rest of the Sky Sports production team were on site for the 3 US WGC events, that won't be the case this year. They are covering it from the studio.

They will be on site for the Players Championships.

They will not be on-site for any of the Fed-Ex Cup play-offs events, including the finale - the Tour Championship (week before the Ryder Cup)

They also will not do the Masters & The Open Championship.

Could possibly do a few of the rest - tight budgets and all that.

Thank God for that, can do without listening to Faldo harp on about himself endlessly.

Where are Feherty and McCord, always good for a giggle?

Is it even full coverage?I notice that tonight Sky's coverage starts at 11 when it was 8 last night.I know last year the golf channel did a lot of delayed coverage, and presented it as 'live'.Hope that won't be the case this year.

Every other year round 1 started as the tee-times are today (for round 2).

I don't know the actual reason why it started earlier yesterday to previous years.

They never cover the Masters anyway and their Open coverage is simply a highlights package is it not?

I like hearing Murray and co covering the European Tour so i suppose on that front, their lack of involvement in the US stuff is good news.
