    Could someone clear this up for me please..

    Did the powers that be in this country deregulate banking reserve ratios, as they did in the US, or was it just a byproduct of joining the euro??..

    nothing to do with euro, we would have been in deeper **** without it (see Iceland)

    almost all countries loosened reserve ratios

    to add to tragedy the financial regulator did not do its job at all here in ireland
