    new to this. made a big mistake and agreed to do a triathlon next summer,ok on the bike ,can stay moving for 30min in the pool, heart goes through the roof when running 160bpm, can do 5.2 mph for 40min on the t mill at 150 ,should max out 162 [you can work out my age] advice would be welcome ,

    I've never done a triathlon so I can't comment on that, however with the running it's just a case of building up your distance gradually and also working on your speed too.

    I would work on the distance first though as i would imagine the triathlon will require you to run more than the 3.4/5 mile you can currently run considering you are doing 5.2mph for 40mins.

    Build up in 10% increases every week, this will help your body adjust both physically to the weight bearing exercise you are doing and also for your fitness.
