New battery?

So I'm fairly sure I need a new battery for my car.

It has started - not entirely fine - the past 2 mornings for my sister when she has moved it out of the driveway to get hers out. But each time I've gone out to start it a few hours later it's dead.

Today it actually started but just cut out straight away and wouldn't start again. Yesterday I added water to it as it was dry but today that shouldn't be a problem. I have the car 4 years and haven't replaced it ever so it must need a new one, right?

Ive a 97 Colt - anyone know how much it will cost me? Less than 100 I hope

Yeah if it's not holding a charge you'll need a new battery, once the cells go dry for any decent length of time the battery will die. When was the car last serviced? The battery cells should have been checked then, it'd be rare for them to be empty if it was done properly.

Don't remember when it was last serviced and it could probably do with one, although it would have had one or 2 in 2009 thats for sure. I will get one today then.
