I enjoy running and doing circuit classes but I keep getting injuries- hamstring and back injuries...so now i realise, I need to build up my core strength to avoid getting injured so frequently...It would be great if anyone could recommend a personal trainer they've been to that was really good? I'm part of the Carlisle gymn in kimmage if you know of a good trainer there? Any suggestions would be great:)

core strength is not always the answer - you need to get properly assessed to see where exactly the problems are e.g. can you do all of the following stretches -

Your names not Paul by any chance is it ?

Most of the P/trainers in Carslile know their stuff, seriously doubt any of them are clueless !

Dunno...my sister trained with TWO of them....one just had her messin about with cable crossovers all the time (no squats, lunges or any basics) and the other kept askin her out!not really what ya want from a trainer!

The problem could well be that your glutes are under-active and the hamstrings are picking up the slack. This is hard to tell without seeing you but if you google 'glut activation exercises' you'll find various progressions which may set you on your way. Combine stretching of your quads and your hip flexors along with appropriate strengthening exercises like single leg rdls, and you'll be well on your way to possible rehabilitation. If you know what a foam roller is, I'd also highly recommend one.
