    Hey All,
Got a seriously dumb question which I could probably figure out for myself but I'd just end up getting frustrated and annoyed.

I need to download a couple of videos from youtube. I'm a teacher and want to show the class a few videos but there's no wireless in the school so can I just save them somewhere on the laptop?

    Any way?

    Thanks.

    http://keepvid.com/

I have used this web site quite a few times. Enter the URL of the video clip in U tube and it will give you a number of options on what to download. eg qualtity and file format.

As far as I know Keepvid is flv only.

You download the file, then rename it with .flv extension.

This might not be an issue if you just want to replay it (I think VLC media player plays .flv ?)

I usually end up converting the video to another format for editing purposes.

Download the free real player. Install it. Then everytime you hover over a youtube video, or any flash video, a little option to save it will come up. Save it. Open real player and any saved videos will be in your library and can just be played from there.

    http://www.real.com/realplayer/video-downloader

This IS available on the free version, dont bother getting the pro version

This worked for me up till recently. Now all that happens is I get this message in the realplayer window:
    realplayerdownload.jpg

Anyone any idea what has occurred or how to rectify it ?
