I think last year they might have brought out an offer for the second semester in January... maybe give them a ring - (091) 570 800.

Also I heard they'll change-over the name on a membership. So if you find someone who hasn't used theirs since September, they might sell you the second half of it. Unlikely to find too many admitting defeat in January though!

I had such a problem with them last year...I bought one years membership in Sept 2008, but due unprecedented circumstances I had to moved to another county for the second semester on placement (the college couldnt find me a placement in Galways and it was really awkward). I asked if I could freeze my membership for the four months but no way Jose..not even with a letter form the department.

They really ought to make some concession for students on placement. I know it can be argued the price is the concession but it made me well cross!

you might as well just buy the full membership and have it for the first semester in September, that is presuming this isn't your final year

I hear they have some offer on now, not sure of the details though. Might just get the yearly one and have it for next year. The summers a bit frustrating cos i won't be in Galway though.
