    Hey Guys,

just looking for your opinion on this, I live in an apartment block in Dublin with a designated underground parking space I was driving home around midnight when the weather gone really bad, total whiteout conditions, anyway when I got to the apartment there was a few cms of snow on the ground and it was too dangerous to put my car into the carpark, there is a major slope and the car was sliding towards the walls. I parked my car on the side of the road behind a line of cars. There was nowhere else I could put it. I put a note on the windscreen saying I was a resident and put my number on it.

When I came out this morning the car was clamped, apparently it was a double yellow line (which was snow covered) I wasn't causing any kind of obsctruction by the way. I couldn't believe it, I was clamped at 4am. I rang the company today and was told that regardless of the circumstances that I would have to pay 120euro to be released. Its money that I dont have and am wondering would any of you pursue it if the same happened. I think it is a discrace as the weather was so bad and I had nowhere else to go without risking a crash.

Not much you can do. They're a private company so you have to pay up and appeal! Have you googled the clamp to see if it can be removed without damage.

Quickly take photos of said parked car so you can prove you 'didn't know' it was a double yellow line due to the snow.
