Sony are saying it is future. All talk and a song from Taylor swift thus far.

ESPN will be showing 25 games in the United States in 3D. Sky should have their 3D channel up and running by then but they of course do not have any rights to the World Cup. Unless the BBC or ITV sublet some games to them in 3D then I do not think we will be seeing the World Cup in 3D over here.

it sounds like cr@p to me.

    1. It'll be too expensive at first:
    (a) to buy the telly,
    (b) to pay the undoubted monthly fee that $ky will charge.

    2. It'll take years to become mainstream.

    3. THOSE GLASSES!!!!!!!!!

There's a piece here about it. Seemingly the HD boxes are already compatable.

Headshot, I just got some of it. They were on about it being launched today. They were saying about the glasses being used whiles watching the tv. ( That's something I don't think I could ever get used to ) Also, that all TVs made from now on will be 3D capable and they start at €900. I didn't really get much of it as I was distracted here. The piece will be available at 7.30pm on here -

Id rather see the likes of Sky concentrate on their HD content rather than them going 3D.

I wont be getting it anyway.

No doubt there will be another sub required to view the 3D channels.

Christ HD is not even out that long on Sky and already onto another technology.

New tv's required to view it also.

Next years world-cup will be shot in 3D guys, 50% of the games will be available to providers, can't see ITV or BBC taking that leap - sure there struggling with there HD channels lol!!

New tv's were required for colour and HD also. People will change tv's over the coming years. I have no doubt I will buy a 3D capable tv at some point but for another few years.

I'm wondering how long it will take these TV's with the 3d technology to be priced below say 1,200 quid - the prices estimated online are of the same price as a cheap new car....

Way to much for my working-class budget lol

Well that is my point. People just bought HD tv's so it is a big ask for them to upgrade to 3D tv's within only a 2/3 of years of buying a HD tv.

According to the guy on the radio they're suppose to start at €900.

I won't be getting one any time soon either, the HD tv here is only 12 months old. Himself would have a lunatic attack if I even suggested changing the tv

Sky know that everyone wont be buying new tv's within the next 5 years. It would be crazy to think otherwise.
