    You should be able to get one from the Curry's/PC World/Dixon chain in NI. Even to collect.

    Only one other possibility.

    Sony released 2 Freesat HD/Freeview combo TVs last month.

    W5810 comes in a 32, 37, 40, 46 and 52-inch

    and the Z5800 in 40, 46 and 52-inch (but they have not been confirmed as working with Irish DTT yet (but they probably will given Sonys Bravia range mainly does).

    NOt cheap though 650 STG for the 32", they'll come down though. But you can get a 32" LG LF77000 in the UK/NI for 399 and they are confirmed to work with Irish DTT.

    Try John Mc in Richersounds. His number is all over this forum.

    I got the LG 32LF7700 of Richersounds.
    Contact them at sales@richersounds.ie, great prices and service.

    I think it's hard to beat this LG range for features available at the price.

    They also have a dedicated forum here for the Philips shop in Dame St. which they own, they'll give you quotes on the forum and answer technical questions..

    You could try Dalzells in Markethill, they sell LG. About 15 mins north of Newry on the Armagh Road. Just bought a 22" LG there, works perfectly with Irish DTT.

    Are the DTT and satellite channels in different channel lists? i.e. do you have to switch between satellite and terrestrial?
    Or can you merge sat and DTT. Same question for the EPGs. Can they be combined?

    Also. Are there analogue Audio phono outputs to feed a HiFi amp?

    Different meus, you scroll between them on the TV button on the remote.

    Analogue Terrestrial
    Digital Terrestrial
    Radio

    on my 19" LG.

    Using a spare Freesat SD box and Scart lead for Satellite. Got a 4 pin LNB installed on our Sky dish over Christmas so we can have Freesat in the Kitchen.

    No. Freview stations in the UK are MPEG2. Saorview are MPEG4. The hardware in some Freeview profile TVs wont display the picture for Saorview (mpeg4). "Freeview HD" profile TVs will. "Freeview HD " is not to be confused with "Freeview with HD" which a Freeview tuner with the ability to display HD from a connected video source (DVD).

    Also Freeview is not available in this country as it is broadcast via aerial in the UK (it is in some border areas - Dundalk etc and parts of Wexford/Wicklow along the coast)

    What are you trying to do ?

    Get a TV that has Freesat HD (satellite cable input) and Saorview built in tuners so that you wont need a box?

    If so this thread is no use as the TVs listed at the top by me are no loner available. Freesat HD Combo Tvs change on a regular basis and are limited edition. This thread is 2 years old. When this thread was going there were end of line products available because of this.

    The only Freesat HD combo Tvs out there are made by Samsung and are dear at present.

    You can also get TVs that have Satellite (now and next epg data only) and Digital Terrestrial tuners built in but without the Freesat software (7 day epg on satellite side).

    Hi STB
    Thanks for all that

    Was aware the tv's listed no longer around just finding it hard to find alternatives

    What are you trying to do ?
    Get a TV that has Freesat HD (satellite cable input) and Saorview built in tuners so that you wont need a box? Basically Yes if possible

    "You can also get TVs that have Satellite (now and next epg data only) and Digital Terrestrial tuners built in but without the Freesat software (7 day epg on satellite side)."

    That would probably do me not worried about EPG
    TV with Satt and DTT tuners built in

    Can you recommend any Tv's ??

    They are dear! You are paying for the convenience of not having a box connected.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=76395105&postcount=5

    Shop around and make sure you have the exact model number as they can vary by one letter in the model name.

    It Should say DVB-S2 and DVB-T tuners in the spec.

    It should also say MEPG4 AVC H264 L4.1 in the video codec for DVB-T in the technical spec. So double check that before buying with the models I listed above.

    The most reasonable I have seen is the Samsumg UE32D5700 which is as low as €420 in European online stores (without postage) so shop around. Check Amzaon.co.uk as delivery is normally free.

    Difference between DVB-T and DVB-T2

    Can someone clarify my understanding that this "DVB T2" is really only necessary for Freeview UK while only "DVB T" is needed for Ireland

    Saorview = DVB-T/MPEG-4
    Freeview = DVB-T/MPEG-2
    FreeviewHD = DVB-T2/MPEG-4

    Saorview is DVB-T/MPEG-4 but a receiver with a DVB-T2 tuner should be backwards compatible with Saorview. Some of the Saorview approved TVs have DVB-T2 tuners by default e.g. some of the Sony TVs, there is no plan to use this standard in Ireland.

    Anyone know of a 26" tv available with inbuilt Saorview and Freesat?

    In the UK, they have the two methods of delivery and it's generally accepted that whatever is on Freeview is also on Freesat (just the odd stations difference). Therefore, manufacturers of UK compatible TV's could see no benefit in having TV's with both tuners. If you did not live in an area served by Terrestrial, the secondary option was Satellite.

    I believe these models were only built for and sold in the UK. However, it's really only in situations where you want the content delivered on both tuners to be entirely different. So that's why these TV's make sense for the Irish market and I'm sure other European countries too. However, licencing stops the Freesat system from being allowed to be sold outside the UK.

    Skippy2, if you aree really desparate for one, search on Amazon for a Panasonic G20B. I have one. You might just pick up a refurbished model with a guarantee. They only went off sale this time last year. I think there are some G30 models now available which do both but these are way up high end models with 3D.
