Paul Townend is a serious bit of stuff and is pretty much a replica of a young Ruby. Gary Carroll is also something special on the flat!

    Young Danny Mullins

    Paul Townend over jumps.

On the flat Chris Hayes, Danny Mullins and Gary Carroll all have the potential to make it to the top

gary carroll is one to really watch. willy hutchinson is doing well over the jumps

kamie kyne was really promising, RIP

Paul Townend has a decent head on his shoulders. Most praise his ability to win but I'd look at another race to show how clever he is. Bobs Display ran at Navan in early Dec and the ground was pretty heavy, which she wouldn't like. She was fav and was going well before the turn in but just couldn't get home in the heavy ground. He pulled her up as soon as the distress signals went out three out. As a result, she was fresh and well for Crimbo and won at 16/1 on better ground. Many others would have kept going on her. On the downside, he does tend to come late but I read a piece from Willie Mullins where he told Townend to come very late on a horse and it got up. So trainers instructions which we don't hear before the race but plenty criticise the ride after the race.

Danny looks polished already, just needs to get his clock right. Rock n Roll kid in the Curragh being on example of a few times he could have pushed the button earlier. Brilliant prospect for the future though.

Gary Carroll on the flat has massive potential, his ride on sesanta in the ebor was different class.

Peter Toole Irish in the UK.
Hes been on a few winners I've backed and was impressed by the seemingly obvious decision of his to run wide all round the track one race to find better ground. I dont think Jockeys do this enough.

Townend an outstanding prospect with the Mullins job only a matter of time as I'm sure Willie would prefer his stable jock to be here all the time.

He's made a couple of mistakes (who hasn't) by over doing the waiting tactics but overall is an outstanding horseman.

The Mullins boys well worth a mention in the thread

I agree with you on that, alright.

Another young jockey who I think has ability is Emmett Mullins. While he doesn't receive the same publicity Danny has, I think he's a good rider, and from racing beside him on a few occasions, one of the few jockeys who rides with his head. I think if he got a few lucky breaks as a professional he'd go a long way.

It's kinda hard to make a call on this because Townend has a serious stable behind him which helps a lot. The other side to that coin is that he wouldn't be in that stable in the first place if he hadn't serious ability.

He will probably have Cooldine in the Gold Cup, maybe Hurricane Fly (if fit) in CH. Maybe Mikael D'Hagenet wherever he might go...potentially a serious book of rides for the Festival, presuming HF and MD will make it.

Pretty obvious ones (first two have won the apprentice's championship) but Freddie Tylicki, David Probart, Peter O Toole, Tom Eaves, Jack Mitchell.

Good choice as he is very promising. The rest are all young flat jockeys.

david probert has lost his way a little since losing his claim, even though he did bag a 14/1 winner on monday. freddie tylicki is good and andrei atenzi is promising

I've seen it three times where I undoubtedly knew the horse would win.

Once with Peter Toole, once with Kinane, and once with Ruby. That kind of riding fires jckey to the top of my 'notebook'

Yep, any jockey who rides with their head and uses sensible tactics will enter my 'good' list and would kept in mind if I needed a jockey!
