The TI website has been a joke (IMO) for as long as I can remember. An easy to navigate, informative and easy to find website (i.e. picked up by the most common search engines and returned close to the top of their listings) is no longer rocket science!!! Anything more advanced obviously requires more advanced web design skill but what do they need, apart from basic information provision, tri news updates and membership renewals .... which by the way is not possible at the moment.

For an organisation with a decent-sized membership, a half decent website should be the absolute minimum offered to members.

Really? I renewed my membership and recevied my membership card.

I find the site easy to navigate and the news stories on there are relevant and appropriate to the NGB of a sport IMHO.

What news do you want to see on the site that isn't there?
There are updates on Elite triathlon and the direction of the sport from a youth and coaching perspective.

If you are looking for more random news and gossip I think you've got the wrong idea of what NGBs sites should convey. As you say there should be basic news (which there is), a calendar of events (which there is) and details of memberships (which there is).

If you want gossip and "how to get in shape for 2010" stories may i suggest www.xtri.com www.tri-newbies.com www.slowtwitch.com and www.irishtriathlon.com

If you really feel that the site needs to change direction and focus more on other aspects of the sport may I suggest that you convey the message to triathlon ireland directly. While ranting on boards.ie is fun and lord knows I do it alot its not going to get anything done.

"Triathlon Ireland wish to inform members that the maintenance on the membership system is now complete and it is now possible to apply/renew membership for 2010.
We thank you for your patience and understanding while we carried out this maintenance."

The above message was posted on the TI site this morning, Thursday, January 07 2010 @ 09:49 AM. The membership section of the site does now indeed appear to be back up and running.

At least it works. Try using the cycling ireland website.
