just wondering can anyone help me with this problem .2 years ago we got SKY HD and a LG HD ready tv the picture has been perfect up until now, we get a message on screen saying THIS DISPLAY DOES NOT SUPPORT HDCP and now we do not have a hd picture .we had sky out today they installed a new hd box but still the same prob the technician says it is a tv prob we contacted LG support and they say it is probably a software prob but as the 1 year warranty is up they would have to charge to send someone out to look at it but could not give us any guarntee if it could be rectified. as the tv is not even 2 years old rather than buy a new one has anyone any ideas, it was suggested to me that the tv is 720p and might have to be up dated to 1080p again i,m only clutching at straws here. the model is LG37LC2DB and the serial number is 609MANJ73135.any help would be appreciated

Have you tried setting the picture output to 720 on the sky box just to see what happens.

Had the same "handshake" problem New year eve with my Phillips 50".
    Changed HDMI cables.
Googled philips forums, here, Digital spy etc...
Managed to get into the service menu of the tv, tried everything but no joy.
Plugged it out from mains and back in again and et volla....Problem solved!! :pac:

I had similar problems with Thomson made boxes and Samsung tvs a few times, is there any factory default function on the tv menu? Mite be worth a try...I think its an extremely crappy reply from LG about your issue...was looking up there site nothing there that is likely to help...

Did this just happen out of the blue or did you just get the new SkyHD EPG or had it already?

more or less out of the blue, we have had the lg tv for less than 2 years from new and sky hd from the same time picture was perfect up until the message appeared about 2 weeks ago. now no hd picture at all, at first when the message appeared if you pressed backup it would come back for a while now we have no picture at all just sometimes the message at first then a back screen with a no signal message floating around

Yes, but do you know if you have been using the new Sky HD EPG, before the issue started or was it this update that has caused the issue perhaps?

Were you using this or not?

If not can you check the version of the EPG in the sky menu assuming you can still get into that? Perhaps this update is the cause?

sorry about that eddiem was,nt sure what you meant earlier, yea we had that new epg from it first came on screen i think about the middle of march last and it never caused any prob. as i said in an earlier post first came the on screen message it cleared if you pressed back up then after about 3-4 days the picture went completely and all we get now is the no signal message we can still watch sky thru the av just not in hd which is what we are paying for

    Hi

If you have multiple HD devices, have just used one of these from ebay on someones TV and it solved the HDCP issue with the Sky HD box as well as providing an additional 3 HDMI connectors.

    Hope that helps :)
