    Hey all,

I've enjoyed reading all your posts. I know its not exclusively for alcos but there does seem to be a few of us here.

Well I've tried everything, will power, white knuckle sobriety, AA etc..... and nothing has worked.

Checking into rehab on friday. I'm hoping the intensity of it will sort me out and get me back on the right path.

Has anyone here been to rehab? are you still sober???

    Wish me luck.

    Blue.

Hey,i went to rehab in Clare for about 30 days 7 years ago when i was 21,it helped me alot and i cannot recommend it enough, having said that it's not a magic cure,it involves you doing alot of work on yourself, getting honest and making a huge effort to take a long hard look at your drinking, life, behavior

It gave me a great foundation and cleared up alot of stuff in a short space of time,i then continued to go to 12 step groups after i finished.

You need to be ready for rehab,in a position where you are humble,i was in a place where i was totally beaten by alcohol and drugs,i was willing to do anything to make my life better,if you are in this place, then you will be fine.

    Good luck

Just got out of the treatment centre yesterday.

It was a tough slog and I didn't find God but I do feel better and optimistic about the future.
