My daughter is 6 months old and i still havent received child benefit...

When i spoke to the child benefit office last time they said that our claim has been processed and we should get our first payment within 2 weeks. That was 3 weeks before Christmas and i still havent received anything!

I was wondering how long it should take to get the first payment and what can i do?

Im really worried that we will lose our house soon.My partner works full time but his wages our just not enough for all 3 of us...without child benefit we cant even claim tax credits or housing benefits!

    Did anyone experience the same?

    Thanks for your replies!

So you are similar to me!

My wife is Irish and I am English... she lived in England with me for 9 years.. working etc.

Last year we came to live here.. with our 2 year old twins (born in UK)

To claim CB we had to produce a letter from my employer (I was lucky I moved my job here) stated my NI status and letter from the UK stating we had cancelled our CB there. Then we got the money after about 1 month - back dated of course!

Im Czech and my partner is British and our daughter is British and was born here.

When we first sent the form they sent us a new one because im foreign, then they sent us a letter saying they lost our form so we had to fill a new one...then they sent us a letter saying we are not entitled to it...so we phoned them and they said they will give us a ring in 5 working days...when they phoned us they apologized they made a mistake and we are entitled to it and will get our first payment within 2 weeks...a month later and we still havent received anything...not even an award notice....

I think you should go to the benefits office and talk with someone in person. It would be an afternoon well used if you are struggling.

    Hodně stěstí
