Sky HD box

    Anyone know where can I pick up a Sky HD box apart from Sky or english sat shops

    Also will the new EPG work without a HD sub ?

    I heard you should be able to get one off an installer ?

    Anyone confirm that ?

    Redout, It will cost €449 for a HD box from us ex sub ( that's what Sky charge us for them ), €79 with a sub ( including install ). The new epg will work without a card once the software update has been done on the box and the roll out has been applied for that particular box / version. ( it works perfectly here when I remove the card )

    Try eBay or Adverts.ie or maybe you would be as well off going with one of these are you are not going to sub to Sky? - http://www.satellite.ie/acatalog/Sky_High_Definition.html

    Or are you replacing an existing STD or Sky+?


    Edit - I just thinking there, if you can not get a new HD box cheaper, it would work out maybe better if you sign up as new customer to Sky HD on the basic package.
    Box and Install would cost €79 ( Including new dish, cable and quad lnb )
    Sub for 12 month contract period ( which would give you RTE, Network 2, TG4, TV3 etc and your package choice ) - €22 + €15 = €37 per month.
    Plus you'd have a guarantee on the box and associated works for 12 months.

    It's just an option :)
