TM & CA Aug Compatibility

There might be some issues. The CA AUG has different dimensions than the TM and JG which are the same.

As far as I can recall there is an issue putting the H-barrel for the TM/JG AUG on to the CA versions. It can be done, but needs a little work which I don't know what exactly is involved.

Ah I see. I don't fancy any work tbh.
    Thanks for the quick response!

    Interesting picture

Aug front outers are retained by a single grub screw in the rear section of the barrel, the joint being in the gas block/locking section. This is given strength by the inner barrel and in the case of the hbar, an aluminium tube. This is where I had problems on my CA A1. I ended up butchering the tube to get it in and still be able to position the inner tight bore.

I thought it might have been the tight bore, as the prometheus ones can be slightly fatter than stock ones, they have a nice shiny coating. I tested the old one in it too though, same issues. All the strain was at that little tapered end, but looking above, there are two! TM make theirs differently to CA, but the JG is a CA clone AFAIK, and such there are many of both "types" out there. The two sections could be for length, or it could be to suit all the AUGs out there.

I'd say send Hedgeganian(SP?) on Arnies a PM and see if he's seen one. He's and AUG addict and has done many conversions himself. If anyone will know, he will.

just to add to this, i have a CA AUG a1 and i recently got a TM AUG a2 and the hexagon products h bar kit for that, however while taking the tm gun apart i noticed it seems very similar to the ca one so i took them both apart and the barrel, hop up and receivers are all interchangeable, i didn't take out the mech boxes yet

but for the laugh i put the TM receiver, TM Hop Up and standard barrel, into the CA outer barrel and fitted it all together and it all works well

i had been told originally that the CA AUG wasn't a clone of the TM

That's good to know! There's a lot of nice kits available for the TM Aug which should then fit the CA Aug. Time to sex up my CA Aug methinks!

well it looks like i'll be able to bring one body and receiver and two seperate barrels, one with a standard barrel and the other with the h bar kit fitted and swap them over depending on the type of game

just waiting on a guarder metal hop up to wind its way over here now

Do you see that look on my face? That's jealousy.
