    Hi there,

Can anyone recommend a place in Cork to take a vintage watch to be authenticated? I don't know of any dealers here for this particular brand.

    Cheers.

I know there are clockmakers/specialists upstairs from the poundshop two doors down from the GPO who might be able to help or else point you in the right direction. Otherwise Keanes might be able to help.

There is a place on Magazine Road, called the Clock Doctor or something, tried to check the name but couldnt find it. I did stumble across Stokes which might be of some use to you though.

The Clock Place is on the corner of Highfield Avenue and Magazine Road. There is also the shop called Highfield Meat Stores diagonally across from it.

They all seem like good suggestions. Thanks lads. Just got to wait a few days now for it to arrive.

If you bought a Rolex on the Internet 90% chance its fake.

Cheers for that craichoe *cough* cynic ;) It's not a Rolex but a quite plain vintage Ulysse Nardin. I bought it from a fairly reputable source but would still like to have an independent verifier.

I think the place by Highfield Stores may have closed down, might be a phone number outside it or something though.

Stokes on McCurtain St is prob the best place for vintage watch or clock business.
