Ok folks ive a 01 opel corsa GSI...There is about 90,000 on the clock...There was a new battery put into it about 2 years ago i think. Was running grand until about 2 or 3 weeks ago...I left it for a full week with out driving it..During this time it was fairly bad weather and icey out..So when i went to start it, No joy...The lights were coming on but it wouldnt start..Jumped it and it worked a treat..

So i brought it for a long spin to dublin from wexford..Left it over night and it was grand..Started the next day grand...Brought it back to wexford and now it wont start at all with out it being jumped.

There is petrol in and oil in it and coolant..

Any suggestions as to what it could be would be helpful and a price on how much it could cost to get fixed please.

    Thanx

either it's not getting charged up enough or it's not holding the charge.

either alternator or battery is dodgy IMO. I'm guessing it's the battery.

Yep, you could bring it to a garage and they could check the battery condition.
The battery may need topping up with de-ionised water as well.

The water is cheap... a decent garage would do it for free.. or a few quid.

Go to Halfords.. they fitt batts for free and can test your old one. Make sure thet test it with a load tester.. not just a voltmeter which tells you f-all.

there should be a warranty with the battery.
Main dealers might charge €15-20 for the check.
There may be an indicator on the battery to tell you as well.
