How to sell a small number of shares

Hi all, probably a silly question, but I have a small number of shares in CRH which I aquired as an employee a few years ago and I am eligible to sell them now.

I physically hold the share certificates and I want to sell about 100 of them (value about €1900). How or who do i see to sell them and how much will they charge me?

Also can I have any influence on the day or time they are sold as they seem to go up and down a nice little bit each day (75c today)

    Any advice would be appreciated.

stockbrokers can only sell publicly quoted shares. You can dictate how you want to sell i.e. at market, specific price range etc.

sharewatch have a small trades service that I've used before. Fees aren't exactly cheap, but they're reasonable enough for a once-off transaction.

When you're selling shares, you can specify the price you want to sell at (called a limit order). Just tell your stockbroker what you want to sell at and it will be filled whenever someone is willing to buy your shares at that price.
