I don't want to open a new thread. What do people think of this laptop please?

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=518447

Also what are Komplett like to deal with, delivery wise and customer service etc?

Sorry Alan, thought I was doing the right thing by not opening a new thread.
    Budget is €500:
Main use would be college work, music and playing movies:
    Mobility is not an issue:
Warranty would not be important, as the course I hope to be doing will be IT support:
O/S, preferably Windows 7, definitely not Vista.

    Thanks in advance.

ah no problem, just didn't want that thread to go off topic:).

The laptop would be fine for your needs, and you'd get it a lot quicker from komplett than if you were ordering it from Dell themselves. I did have a look on Dell.ie to see if i could spec up a similar laptop and it came out at about the same price.

I would be looking for a 4GB and 500GB hard drive if i were buying a new laptop today! And i'm sure you would get one for around 500 euro mark too.

For the uses mentioned above 4GB of RAM is not essential, it's nice to have obviously, but certainly not essential, and the improvement in performance seeing the needs of the OP really is questionable. More storage is more storage, if they need it then fine, if not then it's a bit of a waste.
Btw there is the same Dell linked above on the Dell site, with 4GB of RAM, and 500GB hard drive for 60/70 euro more or there abouts. You could buy it, but i really would question whether it's worth it, and i'd say you'd be waiting longer for it to come from Dell than from komplett.
