From feb 16th to Oct 10th i had 104 games played. I wrote down in my Club Fixture diary rounds score, course, playing partner and any other significant changes like my first handicap cut. Was nice to look back just now. I wouldnt say they were all 18 holes but majority would be.
Was my first year playing golf as a member of a course and wanted to get value. I probably racked up a good another few rounds since then but doubt its been 50. Quite a score 152 i must say.

I do get out a bit but nowhere near to 152 times a year. In the summer I try and get out a few times during the weekdays in the evenings when theres a lot of day light just for a few holes, would often play twice on weekends when i get the chance. Your getting great value of your membership which is great.

    Roll on the long evenings!

3times a week nearly, fair play to you.

I got out once or twice a week every week for about 4 months then once a week for another two.

Haven't played in a few weeks and am going nuts!!!

That sounds like a fun year to me. Im not gonna say I have beaten it because to be honest I really couldnt remember every game. I know for a few months I consistantly played 4-5 times a week, as was my first year on the club team I wanted to hold my own so I put in the practice every week right through till August. Unfortunately all these games were purely practice so got very little chance to cut back handicap as most weekends were team games. Played a huge amount of games early on in the year and slowly cut back.

This weather better cop onto itself bought a new set of vokey wedges and its driving me nuts I cant get out and play !!

@ sweetswing, I'm interested to know how your club could tell you this?

Surely they were not all swipe-in competitions?Actually they weren't, not possible, that's an average of three a week.Sure there aren't any from October to March.

So how could they tell you?

Just wondering. Also are you counting going out for 9/12/16 holes on a summers evening? If so how are your club counting this?

I reckon I played about 100 times this year, maybe more, no idea though really, just working it out on an average of twice a week.

i asked the girl on the desk was it possible to find out how many times i played in the year , and thats the number she came back with. we use brs computerised system in the club so im sure it wasnt to hard . regards amount of holes , only 3 or4 times would i have played less than 18 . i recon if i practice more and play less this year ill see better results.

I'd imagine i'd have played somewhere in the region of 70-80 times last year. I'd say about 40-45 of those would have been competitions and the only a handful would have been full 18 hole practice rounds. The rest would have been a few holes practice after work etc.

Cool, that's interesting.I know if I asked in the office in my club they wouldn't have a clue.
I just think that's a phenomenal amount of rounds of competitive golf to have available in a club, never mind to play in.
I'd be with ya on the more practice thing, but playing is much more fun!
Most I can manage is an hour on the practice ground, booooorrriiiiiiing..

How does this work? Do you have to report to office or tell this brs system every time you go out playing?

The only record I would have would be competitions.
Played 25 qualifying rounds (includes both home and away), but I wouldn't have a clue how many times I played in total. Between going out for a few holes in the evening, team practices, society outings, inter club matches, club matches I couldn't keep track.

    Haven't hit a ball since December 5th.

    Miserable 16 singles competitions this year, 3 non-qualifiers in there too... (4.2 -> 3.8)
Of the 13 singles qualifying competitions, 10 were at home and 3 away.

Team stuff took up a lot of 'regular' golf time and got me playing in some new courses which was great too... added 10 new courses in 2009, 7 of them due to representing my club on teams (or practicing for a team!). 10 new was huge for me because I had only played 21 Irish courses previously... pathetic I know. Up to 43 in total now 'worldwide'.
22 counties on this island that I have yet to play golf in...

Generally happy with the amount of golf I got in this year.... would like to play more singles competitions but wouldn't say no to another blast of inter-club either.

about a third of my games would have been in club compititions, and the rest would be with friends, other members or on my own(sad i know)
