NTL Pace Box freezing regularly - Can I request a replacement or go for HD?

My NTL Pace box likes to restart/freeze frequently particularly if I try to flick through the channels too quickly! Should I phone them for a replacement (and if so, what box should I be asking for?) or is it worth it to go a few quid extra a month and get HD?

    Any advice appreciated!

The UPC boxes are much more stable however you should have a HDTV if you go for the HD box.

Thanks for that. Yes, my TV is HD Ready and has been for ages....hehe...waiting! Does anyone know if the NTL HD will "upscale" for the non-HD channels? If it does I think I'll go for it. (for the sake of an extra fiver a month I'd also be getting Digital+).

To be honest the current SD "picture" from the Pace Digital STB (Scart connection) isn't up to scratch.

Yep it does upscale and makes a pretty good job of it too

The SD picture is alot better on the Hd box, through a HDMI cable that is!

Brilliant, thanks for that. Last few questions.
According to their website it's an extra fiver a month. Is VAT included in that or will I ACTUALLY pay a tad more?

Can I install the new box myself or do they send someone out (and do I get to keep the old box)?

I currently have my XBox wired nicely (SCART) into the spare port on the back of my Pace box. Does the HD box allow this?

Thanks again for taking the time to help me out!

    That includes vat.
You can install the new box yourself if you request a self install.
You can keep the old box if you ask for multi-room.
The HD box only has one scart out and one HDMI out.
