Wedding Band - Motown/Big Band - Any suggestions?

    Hi,
    Has anyone seen any good Motown wedding bands? We want to go for a more big band style or something with a bit more Soul, Funk or Jazz.

    Any recommedations welcomed. A couple of bands we've found so far are Soul Purpose (Motown) & the Showstoppers (Big band).

    Be interested to hear anybody's opinions on these two bands or other bands of a similar style.

    Wedding will be in the Dublin region in November of this year.

    The 2 you mention are very good bands, all pro players who know their business, you cant really go wrong, also check out santoria, excellent soul band. available at a google near you.

    Djed after an excellent band called Velvet lounge band on saturday night and they cover a lot of the big band swing stuff. No idea if they have a website though but if you pm me I can give you contact details for the couple who hired them.

    Connor McKeon and the Legends of Swing are great, I saw them in action and they are a great swing band!i think they are also having a showcase in Leixlip in Feb!!

    Was at The Westin Hotel in December and they had a fantastic big band playing - forget their name but maybe get in contact with the hotel bar and ask them.....

    it's the velvet lounge band who are linked above. they are the resident band there. excellent

    I googled the Velvet Lounge Band, and came across a great little site where they list loads more wedding bands all over Ireland!! it lets u see pics.. and look at videos of the bands in action!!
    its called findaband.ie
    I recognised lots of bands being mentioned on the thread were listed there!
    Hope its useful, it was for me!!
