Pay during lunch hour?

I am currently working in a part-time position in a cafe, about twenty to twenty-five hours a week. I get an hour-long lunch break when I am working a long day, but don't get paid for it. Are my employees obliged to pay? Also, should I be paid extra on weekends or for working late hours?

No - you don't get paid for your lunch hour. Extremely unusual for anybody to get this.
You possibly should be paid extra for late hours and weekends etc but not sure how mandatory or enforceable this is. Also depends on your contract. Somebody else may have more info on this one though

This is purely from memory. I dont have anything to back it up but it could be worth looking into.

I believe that employers are obliged to pay a minimum of time and one quarter on sundays and bank holidays.

Also if your shift has at least three hours between the hours of 11pm and 7am your are entitled to an overtime rate for the entire shift.

I don't know of anyone who gets paid for a lunch. The usual case is if the shift is long enough for a break only- break is unpaid. Lunch only- unpaid. Lunch and break- lunch unpaid but break paid.

Saturdays- nope. Sundays- yes you're entitled to 'premium' pay which must be more than your basic pay- time and a half is the usual.

I've worked in a few places where they had an option; lunchbreak of half an hour and recieve pay for the full hour, take an hour lunchbreak with no pay.

Usually you dont get paid for a lunch hour as its your free time. Typical working hours might be an 8 hour day with 1 hour for lunch, total 9 hours but you get paid for 8.
