I have a creative zen I-Pod. Can anyone advise me which is the best I-Trip to buy for it or is it generally compatible? I was looking at Griffin I-trip. Can a zen be docked??

Could you first explain how you have a Creative Zen iPod. That must be very rare

From what I gathered there might not be a creative equivalent.

Zen's can't be docked, you need to get an fm transmitter that plugs into the zen's headphone jack. Can't offer you any advice on what transmitter to get, I don't think very highly of them.

Thanks for that. Im beginning to regret buying the zen.It works well but I do a lot of driving and would prefer something like an I-trip. An I-trip is effectively a transmitter is it not? My car stereo has no USB port. If I had one -could I connect my Creative zen straight in??

An itrip is just an FM transmitter. You should be able to get one for the Zen (so long as it connects through the zen's headphone jack)

Not sure about playing back via usb, this can be problematic for some devices.

Does you car stereo have an aux in (line in)? if it does then that would be the absolute best way of connecting your zen to it.

I presume from your posts you want something that will play your MP3 player through your car radio.

I have had a few of these over the last few years with varying success. All of them operated the same:

jack plug, same connection as earphones, into the mp3 player, ipod my case, and set that to a frequency, 107.9fm or something free like that, and listen away. It is plugged into the cigarette lighter and is powered through that.

Most were poor quality which gave poor sound, jack plug connection deteriorated over time through use etc...

I have also had one which played through the tape deck in the car which were better but again sound quality varies. Also, tape decks are not an option anymore for me...

My current one is the best so far. I got it in tower records in Dublin, wicklow street. It was 7.99 i think and has 4 frequencies built in. It plugs into the cigarette lighter but also has triple A battery option. plugs into jack plug for sound. The sound quality is very good and I am very happy with it.

I looked through their site but I can't find it on it, will check out its name later for you if your interested.

I would be interested (glannman) Thank You. Is the I-trip essentially the same thing? An Fm transmitter

Basically the same. You want to listen to music off you ipod through your radio, Itrip is a brand name i think, FM transmitter is the technology... If can use Aux in (line in) that is your best format, sound would be the best I would think...

This is the one i got, found it on pixmania

    There are others here:

I have never dealt with Pixmania but that first link is available in Tower Records, well it was just before Christmas...
