Coax Cable

    Hello,

Basically, I've only recently moved into a new house, for a while the makey-upey connector worked, a stripped back coaxial cable with the metal piece inserted into the back of the sky box, it worked fine untill the sky box got pushed back and the metal connector in the middle of the cable snapped.

I attempted to just cut it back a bit, bit to no avail? is there a special way to cut a coax cable so that it works when it's imputed with sky digital?

    Thank you,

    Kevin.

Did metal bit snap off *in* the connection for the Sky box?

Your post is not sufficently clear to understand exactly what happened.

Was the cable just resting in the slot at the back or was it a proper connection that screwed into the box?

Is there a piece of the centre core (metal bit) of the cable still in the back of box ? Is so turn the box on its side and give it a gentle tap and it should fall out.

You probably need to buy an f - connector (in woodies, B&Q or maybe argos)

Then follow the instructions at this link
http://www.satcure.co.uk/tech/fconn.htm
(The grease mentioned is not required for indoors)
