stumbled across Murrays pub on the top of O'Connell St and it has an offer for buy one get one free on "pints, bottles and spirits reduced" (quote from the sign outside the door) which ends on the 9th of Jan. Wouldn't normally drink there but I was enticed by the offer!

I'd rather stab myself in the face with a blunt knife than drink in that area.

it also applies to fibber magees, the living room, the hill (ranelagh) mc dowells, the long stone, czech inn and elegance restaurant on account of 30years in business.

It expires on the 8th of Jan not the 9th as I first posted I can't edit the original post

    I wouldn't bother going there.

I was there recently with the missus, availing of the BOGOF offer. Its buy a drink, and get the exact same drink free, which is grand. So, my missus would order a bottle of bulmers, and myself a bottle of Erdinger.

The barman gets out 2 bulmers and 2 erdinger and opens them all and gives them to us. By the time we had finished our first, the second one had gone fairly flat, so we thought that we would ask the bar dude could he leave our 'free' bottles sealed until we finished our first ones, to which he refused. He wouldn't give me any reason really only that thats how they do it. It wasn't even remotely busy. Knob jockey.

Dandelion, which have this offer on a lot, give you your first drink along with your receipt which they sign. When you want to get you free drink you give them back the signed receipt from the 1st drink, much better system.

Speaking of cheap beer going flat before you get to it, Pygmalion in the Powerscourt Centre do a pitcher of Bavaria for 10, which is marvellous if you can stand the stuff like me!

But the girl behind the bar offered to give me 3 pints as I wanted them rather than give me a big jug of soon-to-be-flat beer. More than decent of her, I thought.

Worked well til she went to the other bar, had to chase her down for my 3rd one.....

I rang the Long Stone and they said it was all drinks (except Miller ?!?) half price.... not BOGOF.

When I rang the Living Room they mentioned that it ran until 9pm on Friday... not sure if that's the same for all of them?!?
