    bought a car second hand privately just wonderin if i find somethin wrong with it is there any avenues i can persue to get my money back legally? havin a lot of hassle wit it since i bought it. the car starts when ever it feels like it and not at all the last couple of days

    Unless from a dealer second hand cars are sold as seen, no comeback.

    As far as I know there isn't anything you can do. It's a case of buyer beware.

    Is it a diesel, the freezing point of diesel is -9c if that rings a bell??

    Otherwise the battery is going and the cold exacerbates it.

    Or both perhaps ??

    In relation to buying the car, you have no legal comeback. Buyer beware, since it's a private sale.

    With the car problems, try posting in the motors section and people there may be able to help.

    Moved to Motors.

    It's a case of "caveat emptor" or "buyer beware" - goods bought second hand in a private sale unfortunately do not come with consumer rights.
