i have bought a sky+ box from ebay when i get it can just conect it up and insert my sky old card (basic chanels no sports or movies/have the Quad lnb and two cables) and start viewing and recording or do in need to pair the card and/or upgrade my subscription.

Ring Sky and get them to pair the card with the box.

0818 719 861 and follow the option for installs.

You will need the following info handy which is available if you press Services, System Set up and System details -

Card number
Version number
Serial number

Yes, but you must have a valid Sky subscription to record and watch back recording.

Hi Hust done the above but am been told that i need an ASA number to add this box to my account,can anyone helpme here.

You don't need an ASA number just to pair a box with a card. I'll PM you one anyway that you can use.
