So now that January is here Im on the bandwagon (again) and reviewing my diet for the new year and starting to exercise.

I ate lots of food over Christmas so my body is now used to the increased intake in food.

So im looking for tips on healthy snacks during the day.

I dont believe in diets that expect you to go to extremes, Im more so looking to make tasty subsitutions rather than dramatic change. Afterall, food has to be tasty.

So at the moment, i have my brekkie which is a mix of bananas, cereal and wholegrain bread. Lunch is sandwich/wrap or roll with soup and a low cal bag of crisps. Usually the <100 cals bags.

But come 4pm every day in the office, i get peckish again. Any suggestions? Bare in mind too that some nights Im in workshop after work so i dont get to eat dinner till late or on a bad day, ill eat not so healthy food during workshop.

I have to say, im not a big fruit eater. Apples and bananas are fine. Altho I will drink smoothies. I hate veg unless they are soft and full of taste. (which usually means herbs and butter!)

So any suggestions for a tasty afternoon snack or perhaps some other filling alternatives for lunch or breakfast.

Just to add, Im not overweight or anything. Just want to shed the Christmas few extra pounds and try get on a more healthy diet.

    Thanks!

There's barely any protein in your breakfast and lunch so no wonder you're starving come 4pm. That's the first thing I would change. Add an egg or two for breakfast and a chicken drumstick with lunch.

Good snacks include: Boiled eggs, sunflower seeds, macademia nuts, babybell cheeses and sticks of celery or carrot with homemade dip.

    Doughtnuts... :)

On the snacking - I always keep reserves of fruit and nuts at my desk so if I get tempted to run out to the shop I just grab one of them indead.

Also drink plenty of water throughout the day. Not only will it help you in other ways but it will also give you the feeling of being full (that was a weightwatchers tip). I keep a sports bottle of it at my desk for those moments.

I'm terrible for not having protein and as the peeps already said you seem to be lacking so I can't really help you on that one!!

Hope this was helpful, Mr. Face! :)
