What is Personal Abuse?!

My question relates to the fact that I got banned last week for 'personal abuse' for a comment I made to another poster. Now my problem with that is that the poster I made the comment to found the comment quite funny and even thanked my post. So how then can this be considered personal abuse? I tried explaining it to the mod but they were having none of it and even the poster I apparently abused appealed for my ban to be lifted.

At the end of the day, its only the internet,it will be here when your ban is lifted. Rules are rules I suppose, people have to stick by them.

The intent is the same regardless of how the other person takes it. If the person took it badly in your case and you received a ban yet someone else said the exact same thing to someone else but they took it well and for that reason this person didn't get a ban then you'd be asking why they too didn't get a ban when they did the exact same thing as you.

OP if you read this, and follow it, you'll have no problems in future.
