Cancelling SKY tv

    Hi,

    Just wondering, has anyone cancelled SKY tv recently?

    Probably a really stupid question, but here goes anyway: if we cancel our subscription, can the dish and box be used to pick up any channels at all for free? We want to cut down on the amount of TV we watch, but it would be good to know if we can still get a few channels through the hardware which we paid for, and as far as I understand, own.

    Yeah you own the hardware, you rent the card.
    I stopped subscribing well over a year ago.
    You must notify them in writing and return the viewing card and they will deduct an additional months sub., (as long as you are past the initial 12months contract, if you are still in the 12 months contract them you have to pay the remainder of the contract).
    There are enough free quality channels to justify sending back the card.

    Within a few weeks they will send you loads of "Please come back " offers. Handy for starting the living room fire with.

    take out your sky card and you will see what you will be left with,do sky still own the dish though and can they take it anytime?

    you own the dish and box. the card belongs to sky. :)
