Tag Heuer Crown Repair

    Hi all

I have a Tag Heuer Link, this morning after adjusting the time on the watch the crown would not screw back into the position to make it watertight.

I must have broken the threads that hold the crown in place.

The watch is out of warranty.

I looked into sending it to Tag Heuer to get it repaired, unfortunately they do not have any service centres in Ireland (they seems to have one in every other country e.g. Iran), and the UK centre will only take repairs from UK addresses. They suggest bringing it to your nearest authorised retailer if their if no service centre in your country.

I obviously want to get the watch fixed but don't want to get fleeced (I know its going to cost a couple of hundred).

It seems to me my options are

    1. Take it to an Irish Authorised Retailer (e.g. Weirs)
    2. Send it to my brother in law in UK and use his address to get it repaired in the UK centre.
    3. Send it to my friend in Switzerland and use his address to get it repaired in the swiss centre.

My worry with option 1. is that the Irish Retailer would pass on the repair cost as well as adding a nice mark up.

What would you do or do I have other options?

Give Hartmanns in Galway a call. They service and repair Tag Heuer watches, perhaps they might advise you better. Ask for Robert.
