    Is it usual to get extra mileage from the original new tyres ? If so Why ?
    If so is can OEM tyres be bought ?

    Years ago, the tyres that came on cars from factory did tend to last longer than the next set. I dont think it happens so much now. This was probably down to wheel alignment etc.

    If the suspension geometry is bang on and all components are brand new then you'd expect them to last longer, how much longer is the question. Many people scrimp on replacement tyres and shocks/tracking so it wouldn't be unusual for the 2nd set to wear quicker.
