Hi! Ive been looking for the answer on tinternet n cant find anywhere so I said i'd try here.

I was on my 7 day break and was meant to start back on Monday. It is now the following Sunday  ... Being Christmas n all I completely forgot.

I have a strip ready to take but wondering do I need to wait till my next period or can i take it now for 3 wks and use extra protection for a week or what???

    It's so confusing!!!!

    I'm lost..

If I were you I would either ring up my doctor and ask what you should do. I don't think they would mind speaking over the phone to you.

If you don't wish to do that then I would say wait 'til your next period before starting a new strip.

    Hope you get it sorted!

Use extra protection for the remaining three weeks and be careful with it.

Since it's a week late the pill may not even work this cycle, so condoms are your man!

Wait until your next period to be on the safe side.... And use an alternative method of contraception. Every doctor in the country will say the same thing to you and your only going to waste 50quid going down to ask one.

Just hang on 3 weeks til you next period and start back then.

I did this once and when I asked the GP I was told to wait until my next period and start then. You'll have to use an alternative form of contraception until then.

Better than the alternative though I'm guessing :)

If you need any further peace of mind, and don't want to shell out the 50 quid for the doctor, ask your pharmacist! I've found they're usually more than happy to help if you ring or drop in and it's free

True. If you liked you could discuss alternative methods of contraception with your GP. I was terrible when I was on the pill, I constantly forgot to take it which meant that we had to use condoms all the time too. Something like the implant or the injection might be handier cos you wouldn't have to worry about remembering it.

Why don't you check the instructions that came with the packet?

It may be the most sensible thing to do.

I dono why im on the pill even, find it really hard to take it religiously.
I've been on it 4 yrs now. I think its time to move on!!

Gonna talk to my GP bout the implant, 3 yrs of no worry sounds fantastic!!
