    How long must you hold a provisional licence or what age must you be to apply for a full Irish driving licence?

    Sorry to disrupt the thread, but following on from the link that donegalfella posted.

    If you can get a W learner permit at 16, but the driving test covers B and W, could you not take the driving test as soon as you become 17, as then you have had a relevant Learner Permit for more than 6-months?

    Another question , I have applied for the test online, and ticked the box, accept cancellation slot. Suppose for example I get this slot at a later date but is not suitable, would I be able to cancel this slot since I heard you usually receive this cancellation slot in short notice and have to give 10 days notice.

    Nope. You have to have had a B learner permit for 6 months, time elapsed on your W only counts if you do the W test.
