Dixie Carter as a figurehead?

Obviously the major problems of TNA have been highlighted to death (creative team, weak management etc...) but is Dixie Carter as a public figurehead for TNA a weakness too?

    I think she is.

The thought occurred to me when thinking about the lack of hype TNA have generated this week.

Dixie seems like a clever, articulate lady but to me isn't visible enough as the figurehead of TNA and lacks any charisma and drive when she is in front of the media. In other words, when she talks, you don't instantly sit up and listen as seen by the ratings she gets when she appears on TNA.

The majority of wrestling promotions who have had periods of success have had larger than life figure head that fans easily identify with (Vince McMahon, Eric Bischoff Heyman etc...).

Another example is Dana White. The is a UFC show tonight. He has been on every show that would have him to publicise it, has criticised MMA sites for not pushing the show and has had daily blogs too.

He exudes passion for the UFC and comes across as winner (and people like following winners) whereas Dixie comes across as...........nice.

Any thought? Is Dixie Carter a weakness as a public figure head? Could she do more? If someone else was in her position, could they do a better job at driving the company forward?

Shes definitely a weakness. While I've no doubt her intentions with TNA are goo anbehind the scenes she may have value but its obvious she hasn't a mind for the business and isn't from a wrestling background.

Dixie is nice and I think she can be ruthless when she needs to be but no she isn't the right person to be the public face of the company but I believe TNA just hired the man who is...I think his name is Hulk somethingorother. In all seriousness, Hogan is more than qualified to do that job and he has been doing it. At the very least Hogan's gotten people talking about TNA (when he doesn't have other things to promote). Does he have the passion for TNA? I wouldn't think so, but that may come with time but he is the man that should be used as the public face of the company.

    A study in contrast.

    Dana White as a figurehead:

    Dixie Carter:

The point of both promos are basically the same but which one would make you get on their bandwagon? Clearly Dana's.

Maybe it helps that he can swear which may help him to look more passionate but aside from that he clearly is more charismatic/passionate.

I do think Hogan could be very good in the role but ever since he has signed Dixie has been more visible as the figure head and she's tried but it hasn't clicked. Just compare the 2 videos up above.

I think Dixie did a fair bit better when giving out to Jarrett:

Dixie should just step back into the background (no doubt Russo is encouraging her to be on TV as an attempt to keep his job) and leave Hogan or Bischoff do all the talking as they'd be taken much more seriously and create a little more of a buzz.

I don't really want to get into who cuts the better promo and showing video after video. Carter won't win that war either (but she doesn't need to). You can be a successful public head of the company without having to cut promos as a character on tv

My point is who does a better job pushing and representing their company? Who is the better figurehead?

Dana White is for the most part a great figure head for the UFC. Carter is just not visible and when she is, she is underwhelming.

If Dana White had a share in TNA, do you think more or less people would know about TNA going live on Monday?

When did this happen....i havent seen impact in awhile but was reading reports and never read this!!!!!Class..... when jeff walked into dixies office it reminded me off a really bad porno ha

Staying on the topic Dixie should stay off camera.....Vince and Dana seem like two very powerfull men while Dixie just seems like a nice person.....

Dana White and Hulk are good friends I would not rule out some collaberation between the two. This is evident even from a couple of weeks ago when Hogan appeared on the Ultimate Fighter. I'm not expecting anything big as there would be no mutual benefit(UFC doesn't need TNA) but little stuff to promote TNA I can envision.

Dixie with the fans is a great figure he comes out meets them and mingles as much as possible and has a good time doing it.

Vince gives off the impression thats he's too big to associate with the "universe" and keeps as far away as possible, Maybe Dixie is too nice but the aggressive testosterone filled male dominant owner type is a bit cliched at this point.

Dixie seems like a real person not a character and the fact sh'es not as polished and comfoetable on air gives a realness to it.

Bring it a bit closer to home, if Michael O'Leary had a share in TNA, do you think more or less people would know about TNA going live on Monday?

You may think it's cliched but his visible, bold, cocky leadership is a factor in why Ryanair have gotten to where they have. They were small the small fish, just like TNA are today.

My point is Dixie could do alot more. She needs to get out there. She needs to lead and lead better.

Hell if Jordan or Oprah (whose are both tremendous business people) had a share in TNA, a hell of alot more people would know about this Monday night.
