Freesat mixed with DAB Radio?

Anyone know what might happen if I split my freesat signal with one of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=9273, and then plug-in the 'slave' F plug into the back of my DAB radio? > My intention would be for my DAB radio to receive the many freesat radio stations, without interference to the freesat/TV signal, running on the splitter (master output).

DAB and Freesat (DVB-S/S2) formats are not compatible.

On a diferrent but related topic, is there any word on when we might get DAB radio over here. It would be great to watch the Footy on Sky and listen to the commentary on 5live without having to listen to Andy Gray!

The odds of 5 Live ever appearing on Irish DAB are very slim to none. Lots of sporting rights that would need to be cleared etc. etc. I used to turn off the commentary on Sky but sadly the interactive PQ is ****e compared to HD

DAB is a terrestrial service and is NOT broadcast via satellite. It is (and will probably remain for quite a while) a poor service in Ireland. I doubt 5live will ever be broadcast in Ireland over DAB.

5live though is available on DVB satellite radio (10.80275 GHz, Horizontal polarisation, Symbol rate: 22.0 Mbaud, FEC 5/6, SID 6401).

Cheapest way for you to get it is buy a cheap second Sat box (lidl, adverts.ie,...), get a twin or quad LNB, run an additional sat cable to the new box and just use it for radio (i.e. a TV connected to it is only needed for initial setup)

The splitter in your OP will NOT work in a satellite setup.

You could always add a Sky Gnome to the second digibox (as outlined above)
and then listen to the audio from whatever at the 1st TV...
    the Skyman

And then plugin the Freesat box into the back of my radio using the 'Phono' sockets & utilising the "Aux" button to select freesat radio?
