Problem with ITV HD on Freesat

I have a Panasonic Plasma and my brother in the West has an LCD from the same manufacturer. Both are freesat enabled and we have set it up. Both of us are having occassional problems with ITV HD reception.

We access it on Channel 977. For example the Liverpool v Reading match lost the HD picture 10 minutes into the game. Now I can only get it on the normal SD feed. It had been perfect up to that point on HD. I don't know if my brother had the same problem but he has told me of others...mad pixellation etc.

We are both using the same Belfast postcode.

Same for me on my DM800, must be a transmission problem....

Watching the scousers tonight, and ITV HD keeps freezing on the Sky box, so I've switched back to "normal" ITV. I also have a Humax in the bedroom but I haven't tried that out. Probably got the same complaint.

Yes, and did you see that they mention ITV W Country is broadcast at higher bit rate than other ITV regions so giving a better SD picture. That's the one I will watch from now on when ITV HD breaks down again.

Edit- Just to add......ITV wescountry broadcasts at a resolution of 704x576i with an average bitrate of 5900 kBits/s,where as all the other ITV regions are 544x576i with average bitrates in the region of 2500 -3500 kbits/s

It was very annoying the way the HD failed tonight on ITV. Also, for me at least, when it was working the commentary was about 5 secs behind the picture.
