I'm a big cheeseman. I've eaten a LOT over the years.

Recently I've come to find out that it is actually high in calories and sodium and generally bad for you if not eaten in moderation. I do not eat it in moderation.

As a result I am switching to Soy cheese. has anyone tried Soy cheese? where can I buy good soy cheese in Dublin? thanks.

There is no such thing as good soy cheese! Soy cheese is very hard to find and it tastes and feels nothing like real cheese. In short, it tastes like crap.

I suggest switching to low fat cottage cheese which is really good for you.

I would agree with Neuros post. A good low fat soft cheese or also cottage cheese is also an option. Very cheap in lidl and aldi where, in my opinion are much tastier than that yoplait cottage cheese muck. Fairly low in calories and very high source of protein.

Agreed soya cheese is generally muck with the ecxception of the toffuti cream cheese range which are amazying (if you like philadelphia stlye chesse) only problem is it's expensive and I'm fairly sure they use partially hydrogenated veg oil.
When I went mainly vegan I was such a farmers market junkie every week we'd spend 20-25 euro on top notch farmhouse cheeses along with different breads, olives, chutneys etc ah pure bliss! Went from doing that every weekend to just having one really good cheese sandwich a month as a treat. I would reccomend using parmassan instead (buy a proper ihgh grade one from a cheese mongers) and you only have to put a grating on anything (dinner, sandwhichs, pizza etc) to get a really strong cheesey flavour and it necer goes off in the fridge!

Agredd.. Tofutti is lovely but expensive. I have ricotta cheese as my protein...have been pretty much been brought up on the stuff as a low fat alternative.
