i dont think the type of aircraft was spoken about though i could be wrong, and i think he said he was gonna set up a sister airline and not exactly use "ryanair"

i always taught thr 767 would be what he would use

He was going to launch a sister airline for the long hall alright,

He was looking at either the A350 or the 787

    Done some digging and found:

Well at the moment the A330 line is solidly booked for a few years. This is perhaps due to the delay in the B787. Airlines needed to replace teir B767s. Now that the B787 is airborne at least,we may see a slight drop in A330 orders. (It has just passed 1000 orders) As the B787 and A350 are coming into service (2011 and 2013 respectively) we could see the Ryaniar longhaul airline starting with new or second hand A330's. It is the top of its class at the moment, the B787/A350 will beat it but this could help RyanAtlantic as airlines replace their A330s with B787s/A350s.

I just can't see him going for airbus do? Could well be proven wrong do.

The tought of a long haul flight with ryan air style service isnt a nice one. :)

Isn't that quite a substantial longhaul fleet they've got coming on tap? Will we see more destinations as a result?

I don't think their livery needs updating - why fix something that ain't broken? That said, I've always prefered their old livery where the shamrock was framed by a circle, it's more of a classic look I reckon, in the same way Lufthansa's livery is timeless.

They could pick up 4-5 cheap second-hand. This would be enough to launch. They could look at a large B747-8/B777/B788/A350 order later on.

I think you're right with 2014....they postponed it as far as I know not long after Christoph Mueller took over
