Step 1: Advertise the crap out of anything seasonal

I wasn't here a few weeks ago! Did they know of my coming, the messiah was on his way - he shall be called Johnny Giles. Then he arrived known as Black Magic!

Black Magic chocolates are far nicer than Easter Eggs!!!

The old, hard easter eggs used to be nice, but the new softer ones are manky.

Anyways, re the topic, the next thing that should be advertised is Hallmark Valentine's Day, and maybe then Easter.

Running them all into each other - Hallowe'en/Christmas/Valentine's Day/Easter/whatever - is pathetic and takes the good / anticipation out of all of them, and that's already damaged due to over-commercialisation and a focus on selling rather than the spirit of each of the various events.

They don't sell creme eggs all year round they are only for sale each year on the run up to easter, the ad today says at the end from jan-april. sorry to sound like a know all I don't even like chocolate but the ad caught my eye

Was in Tescos there this afternoon, they've got their Christmas stuff on sale, and a portion of what used to be Christmas chocolates is now Easter orientated.
All the creme eggs/ carmel/other fillings, new Cadbury Carmel bunnies and other random easter type chocolates. I (who have no issue with things being out early) still thought wow that's early.

    No they don't

Yep, Cream eggs in my shop all year, they are not just for easter.

Well according to Cadbury - creme egg has a season
    http://www.cremeegg.ie/

I know they used to only be released for X amount of time, but I think some shops over stock and they're being sold for the rest of the year, because half the ones you find 'out of season' have gone off slightly, ie the fondant has set/crystallised.

most chocolate either bars or boxes of roses, celebrations etc have a 4-5 month shelf life.Check any chocolates you got over Christmas (if you have any left) and they will be out of date about April or May so think about it if you're buying a creme egg in october it might be sitting in the shop since January:eek:

How is it too early? It's not as if they're advertising actual easter eggs for April. Creme Eggs go on sale at the start of January and it's now the start of January.
