Hopefully someone may be able to put me right on here. I have an Amstrad High Def box with 2 scart outlets (VCR/DVD Scart & TV Input)and a Sharp DVD/VCR combi unit, also with two scart outlets (AV1 TV & AV2 DECODER). I've run the scart lead from the VCR/DVD Scart outlet on the Sky box to the AV2 DECODER outlet on the DVD recorder but whatever I try to copy (onto DVD-RW discs), I just end up with a mixture of static and snow. Anybody got any clues/ideas where I'm going wrong?

Run the scart to AV1or AV2 on comdi and make sure you have AV1or AV2 displayed on the front panel on the combi when you are copying

Cheers Scaller. It worked; however, the quality isn't as good as I was expecting. I copied about 20 minutes of a HD programme, but the quality is poor I wasn't expecting HD reproduction, but I thought that similar quality to a standard DVD might be possible. Any idea what sort of quality you'd get using Copy+? I know you have to remove the hard drive from the Sky box, but if it was worth it, I'd consider it. Also, is Copy+ fairly simple to use.

I dont think copy+ will decode the program, (but then i could be wrong)

as far as i know it only copies the data which still has to be decoded by the sky box.

If memory serves, the [VCR OUT] scart socket on all Sky digiboxes only outputs composite video. Only the [TV OUT] scart offers RGB.

Your DVD Recorder may also have a similar limitations on one or other of the scart inputs (check the tech specs in the back of the Operating Manual)

Additionally, the AV (SCART) inputs can be configured for RGB / S-Video / Composite in the Setup menus on some DVD Recorders.
