Textspeak is not appreciated on these forums.

I don't think NTL care about how many points you have in your house, they charge you based on the number of digital boxes in the house, more than one is called multiroom. If you put an extra point in the house without the involvement of NTL you will only be able to get the analog channels and these days the picture quality on analog is depreciating fast, they want everyone to go to digital. I believe the standard domestic feed can supply up to three points, after that you could suffer from loss of signal quality.

If you're going to the bother and expense of putting in more TV points in the house I'd recommend you get a digital box on any new points. I don't think NTL will do the wiring, you'll probably need to get a sparks to do the wiring, he will run the co-ax to the attic and then you can get NTL to connect it to their feed and give you an extra digital box.

You'll need to get a builder/electrician to lay the cable and to terminate it somewhere near where the existing NTL cables enters your house, then you engage NTL to connect it. I don't believe NTL will run cables around the house for you.

Is this a new policy? When I got two new points (with boxes) UPC did it all - external wiring drilling and everything.

Sorry but I assumed that they wouldn't get involved drilling holes in walls and running new cables down from the attic to the kitchen/bedroom etc.

You say 'external wiring', did they do any internal wiring which involved running new cable ducts down walls to new points?

Thats what I meant - there was wiring that was external and so had to be made internal when it reached the relevant rooms - all of which they did.

Basically, all work from outside box, to new points and boxes was taken care of. They didnt need to run cables down walls - they brought them to where they needed to be outside, then brought them straight through.

I didn't have to get an attic done, but know someone else who did, and they took care of that too, no problem
