Tip for the front nine, keep any wayward drives to the right as all of the danger is on the left for the first nine holes. You need to think more off the tee for the back nine than the front as there are some tricky driving holes like the 12th and 13th.

Not sure if the ice greens will be in use or whether you'll be on the real greens but the real ones are very good.

I played there on Tues and it only had 12 holes open with temp greens, you could bounce a ball off the green, then again, nowhere else was open. One hole was surrounded by ice, was a different yet fun challenge.....

No sign of them dropping their joining fee just yet........

played about 4 times in the mid week comp,it's an ok course and nothing more than that imo, worth joining if they dropped the fee but anyone shelling out that cash would be mad imo unless it'e on your doorstep,
on the plus side, decent club from what i've heard,

I've played it a couple of times now and it's one of those courses that when you finish, you can't wait to have another bash. It's a fantastic test of golf and the last time i played it it was in cracking condition. It's still relatively new and is only going to get better in the years to come.

There's a good few holes on the back nine in particular. The 15th gets a lot of mentions, but for me, 17 is a superb hole. The 10th is also a memorable one, and the first two par 5s on the front nine are good holes too.

And even if the golf is crap, there's some beautiful scenery and very good facilities in the 19th.

I was talking to a couple of new members up there at the tail end of the season. There's been a few groups joining from other nearby clubs, working out deals on a group basis.

There's some great cheap 'n cheerful courses in that neck of the woods where a lot of people started the game in recent years. South County seems to be picking up the ones who have since been bitten by the bug and want to move on to something more challenging.

if i lived close i wouldn't mind if they dropped there fees altogether,i'm clubless at the mo,have been a member in a couple of clubs in the past, might just join Druids Heath, wait a few months and see what deals are about as there should be lots
Have to say although i'm not a big fan it's not easy off the back sticks, some good par 4's

I is a great challenge off the baks alright. Not played off them too often. You must be Wiclow based then?

I have to say I disagree apart from the 19th.

The front nine resembles a field with no stand out hole.
The back nine has more character but too many weaknesses. The second shot to ten is interesting but the tee shot is blind to a non existent fairway. The 11th is a blind par 3. The 12th and 13th are blind tee shots also. The 14th is a decent hole as is 15. The 16th is an excellent par 3. I'm afraid I just don't see the attraction of 17. The 18th is a very poor hole, its' sole purpose is to get back to the clubhouse.

Nice views of Dublin Mountain though. :D

I'd have to say it has the makings of a lovely course, great scenery, nice clubhouse. It does need a few more years of growth though, then it will really be a nice course.

Its well over the OK mark, played it during the summer a few times on those midweek opens and very much liked it.

Remember playing the par 5, 6th, had a decent drive and 2nd shot I thought I could take on quite a bit of the out of bounds on the left, of course took on far too much and ended up OB. 7th a tough hole. Liked the 10th and than that par 4 12th, after the par 3, quite a good view up there and nice tee shot. 16th obviously a good hole. Wasn’t overly keen on the 17th, think I went right the times I played near that range and was left an awkward shot over those trees. Good closing hole. Am due to play there a few times this year.
