    Hi there,

iv just took the cables from my sky box and put them into my htpc with a dvbs aver pci card and set it up in mce.i can recieve all bbc,itv and lots of others but i cant get channel 4,e4,more 4 and also them channels as +.i have 3 coaxs coming from the dish and have tried the three of them but it still just has a black screen and then says no signal is being recieved.
I have made sure that the frequencies are correct and have tried to view them with the cards native software player which was supplied with the card but to no sucess.
are they still on free sat? am i doing somthing wrong?

    hope u can help.

    thanks in advance.

Its likely that you have something near the computer such as a wireless phone or wireless router that may be causing your problem, if you have anything like a phone near the computer just try unplugging it from the wall and see if that helps.

no phones, and turned the wireless off on my router too just tried it there and still no luck,i never had problems on signal when the sky was hooked up but could it be my sat alignment?should i adjust it,i checked it with my sat finder and with a setting of 5db im getting nearly a max of 10 and on the scale with a load noise, should i be getting the loud noise with a lower setting on the sat finder, its annoying the hell outta me,the weather is good today too so its not that.
    any other suggestions

    thanks again

    probably a slight misalignment ,
    or dodgy connection.
try changing around the connections on the back of the box,
and see if the quality readings change.
