I got a hp laptop as a christmas present it was bought in Pc world but on st.stephens day I accidentally spilt 7up on it and the laptop wouldn't turn on the next day I brought it down to PC world and thankfully the person who bought the laptop had an extended warranty on it which means that the laptop will be repaired free of charge but I'm just thinking when I get the laptop back will it be as good as new or will it have many problems?

Depending on the warranty it may have accidental damage cover. If it has, it should be fixed to as new condition. It it doesn't work send it back.

You probably wont get teh same laptop back so there will be a new formatted hard drive.

i spilled a full cup of tea on laptop keyboard two weeks ago. turned it upside down, ripped out the battery and sat it face down on a tea towel for 24 hours in a warm area. back up and running with no problems. best of luck with pc world.

I rang up the helpline today and they said the laptop does not need any parts and the engineer will look at it tomorrow. Its currently in a workshop in Macclesfield, when can I expect to get the laptop back?

Sadly I poured tea over one year old Dell inspiron laptop. I thought all would be ok as no sugar/milk and dried off/upside down/hotpress for few days. I did not know about taking out the battery immediately as well as plug and sadly the motherboard is dead.

Dell wanted over 400 Euros to replace it. It was just days over its warranty but do not know if it might have been covered? House insurance was also mentioned? Dell wanted over 400 Euros to replace the motherboard. I did not think it was worth this and got new laptop for less.

Does the old laptop have any value? Could it be repaired for less? It was a better machine that the replacement :(.
